The fall season is a good time to tackle invasive plants. Some, like bittersweet, are easy to spot at this time of year, and we will be taking advantage of great weather on Saturday, October 22 to do just that. Meet us at Curtis Farm Preserve on Saturday, October 22, at the parking lot on Route 123 (1554 Harpswell Neck Road, Harpswell). We will be there from 9:00 a.m. until noon, cutting bittersweet vines, invasive shrub honeysuckle and multiflora roses just north of the parking area. Wear clothing to protect against briars and ticks, and use tick repellent if you can. We have tools and work gloves, or bring your own loppers and pruners.
