This season a member of the Harpswell community generously donated $1,000 to HIPP.  This benefactor, who has given to HIPP previously, demonstrates commitment to the HIPP’s mission of combating invasive plant species on Harpswell Heritage Land Trust (HHLT) preserves and on Harpswell town lands. Donations like these are vital to enabling HIPP to perform its mission and conduct the work of identifying and mitigating invasive plants throughout the town of Harpswell.  Contributed funds are made via HHLT, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  Donations are tax deductible.  Please consider donating by clicking the donate button on the HIPP homepage or by following this link to the donation page.

About HIPP and How Donations Are Used

HIPP is an entirely volunteer-run organization which relies on the contributed time of many individuals who labor extensively to remove invasive plants species.  In addition to the thousands of hours contributed by HIPP volunteers, there are costs for materials and services associated with this work that donations to HIPP cover.

Material expenses include the purchase of things such as specialized tools and supplies, and even the purchase of new native plants to establish beneficial species in treated areas.  Services that HIPP procures range from tool sharpening to contracted professional landscaping services for complex invasive remediation that augment what our volunteers do.  Donations like the one above provide a vital lifeline for HIPP’s work and directly benefits the preserves and parks Harpswell residents and visitors enjoy every day.
